After Class Events (A.C.E.)

Middle School students have opportunities to expand their school day experience in multiple ways. After Class Events activities, called ACE, are served up quarterly, with a fresh list of activities for which students may sign up. Students may also use ACE for homework help on site from certified teachers.

For the 2025-2026 school year, ACE will be offered in person two days a week, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.

ACE is a great opportunity for students to increase learning as well as enjoy the collaboration of others with similar interests. The classes are set up like clubs, with a variety of activities available. All students will have a 30-minute study hall to start, then will move into their club activity. Registration will be required every quarter.  Please submit a separate form for each child in your family. 

Club Options: These may vary throughout the year. Please see the choices below when registering.

CLUBS WILL BE CONSIDERED FULL AT 10 STUDENTS. CLUBS WILL BE FILLED ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS.  STUDENTS MAY BE ASSIGNED THEIR 2ND OR 3RD CHOICE IF NECESSARY.

  • Academic Club:  homework help, study skills, organization; led by certified teachers and often has A+ tutors from Staley High School available
  • Gaming Club: board games, online games 
  • Music Club:  band students will get in extra practice
  • Scholar Bowl Club:  trivia knowledge meets games; competitions may be available in later sessions 

Snacks are not provided. Students are encouraged to bring a snack from home. Students will assemble in room 514 (Mrs. Kurbin) once dismissed from their last class of the day.  The first 15 minutes of ACE will be for attendance, snacks, and a check-in activity.

The cost for ACE is $10 per quarter. Students with financial needs should contact Mrs. Kurbin about an alternative.  Payments and Registration for ACE can be done through MyPaymentsPlus.  https://www.mypaymentsplus.com/welcome  

Bus transportation is provided to take students home if a car ride is unavailable.  Car riders are released at 4:45pm.  

  • Any car rider student not picked up by 4:50pm may be put on their assigned bus to ride home
  • Busses will leave by 5:00pm.

  • Quarter 1:  September 2-October 8
    • 12 sessions
    • Registration August 1 - September 24
  • Quarter 2: October 28-December 10
    • 12 Sessions
    • Registration October 10-24
  • Quarter 3: January 20-February 25
    • 12 sessions - If there are multiple snow days, this session may be extended into March
    • Registration January 4-18
  • Quarter 4: April 7-May 13
    • 12 Sessions
    • Registration March 22-April 5
